International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) 13th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships opened in Dianchi Lake, Kunming, Yunnan Province on 18th. Nearly 3,000 athletes from 24 countries and regions, the world's highest level Dragon Boat Race return to China.
The Dragon Boat World Championship is the third time of “back to dragon’s hometown” after the 1995 World Championships held in Yueyang, Hunan Province, and the 6th World Championships in Shanghai in 2005. Representing Chinese traditional culture with Chinese characteristics, Chinese spirit, and Chinese wisdom, it is widely developed and merged throughout the world, bringing a sports feast for athletes and spectators to a fusion of traditional culture and competitive sports.
